POWs and President Yeltsin

"Last-minute pressure
This commission was originally an article to be written by Paddy Ashdown on the double registering of Irish sheep for grant purposes. That article was pulled when he was three-quarters of the way through the figure — literally up to the neck — and the subject changed to prisoners of war possibly still in captivity in Russia.

The sheep, maps of Ireland, shepherd's crook, disappeared, to be replaced by a tie, and the shadow of the dove of peace.

These changes are visible in the original artwork. He managed to meet the deadline (just!) The original artwork and the published image are on show together in the exhibition, to show how he achieved these last-minute changes and to prove he met the deadline."
