The Open Photography Competition 2003 'Images of Hull' was organised by the University of Lincoln as a tribute to the late Professor Derek Crothall.

Professor Crothall devoted his working life to the development of Higher Education in the City of Hull.

He was also an enthusiastic participant in the cultural life of the city. This Open Photographic Competition and the Exhibition seek to celebrate this relationship by exploring the many aspects of the place, and its people, as seen through the eye of a camera.
