I got a thrill when I walked into "Show of Faith" Part One, in London last November.

This work wasn't about style or empty topicality. At a time when irony and detachment rule, and it's unfashionable to delve into anything deeply, it was shocking to see images asking important questions like, Who is God? and Why does man exist? And the language of the replies was raw and elegant, using primary colours in an inflammable mix of found photos, collage, texts and drawings which have a childlike frankness.

This work has a point of view, is free from received ideas, develops its own position with a directness which is powerful and affecting because it is so straightforward.
