There's Something Behind You

A development of the character in "Empty". A almost comical devil/Batman-eared creature looms obliviously behind him.

Is it creeping up behind him, is it subtly guiding him without him being aware?

Smaller drawings are scratched into the print of the creature flying to make the character bow down. Bow down to what? Religion, himself?
